Professor Han Zhen

Research Directions: Modern European and American Philosophy, Western Historical Philosophy

Learning and working experience:

After graduating from high school in June 1975, he went to the countryside to join the queue. In December 1976, he worked in Chiping County Electrical Appliance Factory. He successively worked as a fitter and a lathe worker.

In 1977, he was admitted to the Political Department of Liaocheng Branch of Shandong Normal University (now Liaocheng University).

He graduated in the spring of 1982 with a bachelor's degree in education.

Later, he enrolled in the Department of Philosophy of Beijing Normal University for his Master's degree in Western Philosophy.

He graduated from the University in December 1984 and taught; he received his Ph.D. in 1997.

Research direction:

The main research directions are modern European and American philosophy and Western historical philosophy.

From 1993 to 1994, he studied at Stanford University as a senior visiting scholar.

In 1998, he was funded by Euro-China Higher Education Research Project Foundation. As a visiting researcher, he went to the University of Constantis in Germany to study European integration.

In 2002, he went to Harvard University as a senior visiting scholar to do academic research.

He has presided over more than 10 scientific research projects at the national and provincial levels, including 2 major key projects.

Published more than 10 personal monographs and editors-in-chief works, 6 kinds of teaching materials, 4 translations, more than 300 papers and translations.

Achievement Honours:

In 1991, he was awarded the title of Excellent Young Teachers in Beijing.

In 1994, he won the first National Youth Social Science Outstanding Achievement Award and the third Beijing University Outstanding Social Science Outstanding Achievement Youth Award.

In 1998, he was awarded the Second Prize of Excellent Achievements in Humanities and Social Sciences by the Ministry of Education.

In 2000, he won the National Excellent 100 Doctoral Dissertation Awards and the Second Prize of the 6th Beijing Excellent Achievement Award of Humanities and Social Sciences.

In 2002, he was awarded the 3rd Young Teachers Award by the Ministry of Education.

In 2006, he won the second prize of the Fourth Outstanding Achievement Award of Humanities and Social Sciences of the Ministry of Education.

In 2009, he won the second prize of Excellent Achievements in Scientific Research (Humanities and Social Sciences) in Institutions of higher learning.
