General introduction
Personal learning and work experience:
He graduated from the Department of Philosophy of Beijing Normal University in 1987 with a bachelor's degree in philosophy, in 1990 and 1999 with master's degree and doctor's degree in philosophy.
He started to work in the faculty in 1990 and was a visiting scholar in the Department of Philosophy, Harvard University from September 2009 to September 2010. He is currently the dean, professor and doctoral supervisor of the School of Philosophy, Beijing Normal University, and the director of the Center for Studies of Values and Culture in Beijing Normal University (the key research base of the Ministry of Education).
Social work:
Former President of the International Society for Value Inquiry(ISVI). Secretary-General of the Teaching Steering Committee of Marxist Theory Specialty of the Ministry of Education, Executive Director and Deputy Secretary-General of China Dialectical Materialism Society.
Honorary awards:
Distinguished Professor of Yangtze River Scholars, Ministry of Education. He has been selected into the National Millions of Talents Project and won the honorary title of "Young and Middle-aged Expert with Outstanding Contribution" by the State and the special allowance of the Government. He also was selected into the "Supporting Plan for Excellent Talents in the New Century" of the Ministry of Education.
Over 10 scientific research projects at or above the provincial and ministerial levels are presided over. As a major member, he participated in the research and compilation of textbooks of Marxist Philosophy, Introduction to Chinese Culture and Ten Lectures of Marxist Philosophy, which are the CCP Central Committee`s Research and Construction of Marxist Theory project. More than 80 academic papers and more than 10 academic monographs have been published in Chinese and foreign academic journals such as Philosophical Research, Xinhua Digest, Marxist Research, Seeking Truth, Guangming Daily, Critique: Journal of Socialist Theory, etc. The personal monograph "Reconstructing Modernity: A Study of Contemporary Socialist Values" won the second prize for outstanding achievements in philosophy and Social Sciences in Beijing at the tenth session. The Core Issue of Values and the Prepositional Criticism of the Answer was awarded the Third Prize for Outstanding Achievements in Humanities and Social Sciences Research in the Seventh Institution of Higher Learning
