The dean of Humanities School of Aalborg University in Denmark and his delegation visited our center and the school of philosophy
On the afternoon of May 7, 2019, Professor Henrik Halkier, Dean of the Institute of Humanities and foreign president of the Confucius Institute, Professor Anette therkelsen, director of the Department of philosophy, associate professor Keld thorgard, director of the Arctic Research Center, and Anne merrild, director of the Arctic Research Center Professor Hansen and associate professor Xiang Beili, the Chinese President of the Confucius Institute, and a delegation of five people visited the Institute of philosophy and our center to discuss research and teaching cooperation projects with the Institute.
Before the formal negotiation of cooperation, the school of philosophy organized a small academic exchange meeting with the delegation of Aalborg University. Professor Tian song, a researcher of the center and professor of philosophy school, published the "on the critical point of science, technology, Professor Tian Haiping, deputy director of the center, delivered a speech entitled "Some Reflections on Applied Philosophy". Professor Li shaomeng, Qu Xutong and Tian Shufeng, researchers of the center, respectively expressed their views on some issues of Applied Philosophy from different perspectives.
Keld thorgard, head of the Department of philosophy at the University of Aalborg, Denmark, gave a report on the theme of philosophy and health care, entitled "philosophy, grand challenges and medical reasoning as social deliberation". In this small academic exchange meeting, participants from both sides exchanged their opinions in a happy atmosphere, learning from each other and making progress together. The exchange meeting was a complete success.
After the academic exchange, Prof. Wu Xiangdong, director of the center and Dean of the school of philosophy, Professor Guo Jiahong, vice president, and Associate Professor Tian Shufeng, assistant to the president of the center, held formal interviews with the delegation of Aalborg University in Denmark. In addition, Prof. Tian Haiping, deputy director of our center, Associate Professor Li shaomeng of the school of philosophy, Ms. Tao Yuan, Secretary of foreign affairs, and Ms. Li Xin, management center of Confucius Institute of Beijing Normal University, attended the conference.
At the beginning of the talks, director Wu Xiangdong introduced the development process and current situation of discipline development, scientific research strength and characteristics of the Institute, as well as the current faculty structure and international cooperation, and reviewed the cooperation with Aalborg University. President Henrik Halkier, vice president Anette therkelsen, and director Keld thorgard also introduced the basic situation of the school of Humanities and philosophy, including the teaching system, research characteristics and student size. During the talks, the two sides conducted in-depth discussions on the cooperation of students' summer exchange programs and teachers' research and learning programs, and reached a preliminary cooperation intention. Director Wu Xiangdong welcomed students from Aalborg University to participate in the BNU philosophy summer school project and the Chinese philosophy English master program. Students will also be encouraged to study at the University. In addition, director Wu welcomed the teachers of problem-based learning (PBL) from Aalborg University to visit our institute. After that, Mr. Guo Jiahong and Mr. Tian Shufeng briefly introduced the international philosophy research center in Zhuhai Campus, and welcomed teachers from Aalborg University to carry out academic exchange activities.
